Passage 9

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

This is a great mistake. Strive for good use. You can enjoy great happiness, and offer it to fellow people too.

Nothing must be wasted

Embodiments of Prema! We must not waste anything at all. Many people turn on the tap to wash their hands. How much water do they waste? I do not like wasting water in the least. Take as much water as you need. Then turn the tap off tight. If you do this, a great deal of water is saved. Do not waste water. Food too, the same: have as much served as you need, and eat. You have too much served and throw it outside. “Why, my man! Throwing it away?” Say that, and they answer, “The dogs will eat it; what is wrong in throwing it out?” Even they go away without eating food thrown out like this. Do they not have life too? In this Kali age, Animals too have become Modern animals. First they sniff it. If it is all right, they eat. Otherwise they leave it, telling you to have it yourself, and go away. So we must not waste food. And they waste many other things in so many ways. We must not waste anything. We must not waste water. We must not waste food. We must not waste time. Today they waste a great deal of time. Through this very waste of Time, Life goes to waste. Yesterday I went on speaking of many things. Many wonder why Swami spoke like this. Because I had not been speaking all this while, My voice was getting a little stuck. Even the strength to speak loudly had gone. With these speeches My throat is getting quite clear. The Sound is coming very well. This is of great use to Me! We must use words too in the proper way. Do not waste words. Every human being must waste nothing whatever. You must remember one more thing.
