In plain words

On so many occasions You have kept protecting us. Today too we have none but You. Apart from You alone I know nothing beyond; it befits You to forgive us, the helpless,” she prayed. Kṛṣṇa came, smiling to Himself. He took in the situation. “You cannot stay here long. I am telling you a plan. This is a way that befits Satya. Follow it as you come,” He said. To that the Pāṇḍavas: “Swami! Never on any day have we failed to follow Your command. We are always following it. Whatever You say, we do. Now too we will carry out to the letter the task You give,” they said. Then Kṛṣṇa: “Dharmaja! All of you, stay right here. I will go to Romaṛṣi's āśrama. When five minutes have passed, you too come to the āśrama, and when you come, just as I behave, you too must behave the same way. As I do, so you must do,” He said. By the time Kṛṣṇa reached the āśrama, Romaṛṣi there was ready to curse them. At exactly that moment Kṛṣṇa went in, into the āśrama. “Swami! You have come to our āśrama! Our good fortune has ripened. The āśrama has become holy,” Romaṛṣi went on saying, this and that. A little way off, Dharmaja, Bhīma, Arjuna, all of them were coming. Though He was talking with Romaṛṣi, Kṛṣṇa's gaze was on them. This itself is the gaze of God. Whatever task God is carrying out, His gaze goes where it has to go. Just then the Pāṇḍavas came into the āśrama and stood there. At once Kṛṣṇa bowed, one after another, to Dharmarāja, Bhīma, Arjuna, Nakula, Sahadeva and Draupadī. Kṛṣṇa, beforehand: “Do not open your mouths at all. You simply must do as I tell you,” He had said, after all! So they all placed their hands on Kṛṣṇa, who had fallen at their feet, as though blessing Him. Romaṛṣi saw that sight. “What? This Kṛṣṇa! Śrīman Nārāyaṇa Himself is bowing at their feet! What must the Bhakti and surrender of these people be, when one so great bows to them!” he wondered. The moment Kṛṣṇa bowed to the Pāṇḍavas, Romaṛṣi too came and bowed. By the time he fell at their feet, all the maharṣi's anger had cooled. Kṛṣṇa kept playing all these kinds of drama to save them from falling victim to the fire of Romaṛṣi's anger.
