In plain words
They keep one thing in the mind and act another way outside. ‘Manasyanyat vacasyanyat karmaṇyanyat durātmanāṃ’, so do not keep company with such wicked people. How should devotees be? ‘Manasyekaṃ vacasyekaṃ karmaṇyekaṃ mahātmanāṃ’. They must have oneness in mind, word and action.
The body is Pārvatī, the heart is Īśvara
Students! By your words and by your deeds, you must be known as the people of Prasanthi Nilayam. Whatever country you go to, you must win by your conduct the good name: “These are Prasanthi Nilayam children.” In this way a great many children are winning a good name. You need give me nothing. Mould your conduct into what is right. That itself is my joy. Not only you: every one who is a devotee must mould his conduct into what is right. “We are members of the family of the world. Pārvatī and Parameśvara are our mother and father”: this is what you must believe. Pārvatī means our body! That is why the body has been likened to Prakṛti. Our heart is Īśvara. The body is pravṛtti; the heart is nivṛtti. The oneness of these two is humanness. This is the boon God has granted you. So do not give way to Ahaṅkāra in the feeling, “I am doing this.” Wherever Ahaṅkāra settles, dangers of every kind keep coming. So give up Ahaṅkāra and grow in Prema. There is nothing that cannot be achieved through Prema.
(Swami Himself sang the bhajans ‘Prema mudita manase kaho Rāma Rāma Rām...’ and “He Śiva Śaṅkara namāmi Śaṅkara...” and led the devotees in singing them.)
May today's holy singing of the Name join the air, resound and spread through the whole world, and bestow on all good qualities, good ways and right conduct: with this blessing I bring my discourse to a close.
