In plain words
Embodiments of Prema! There is Prema in every human being. But he spreads it on his kin and friends, on his wife and children. When you centre your Prema on God, without turning it towards worldly things, God is seen wherever you look. You may find this hard to believe. But believe my word. All of you are embodiments of God! If, without recognising this truth, you search for God here and there, how will He be seen by you? What madness it is even to try to search for God! Do you try to search for yourself? God is you yourself! There are no objects without divinity. There are no persons without divinity. Only because there is divinity in you too are you drawn by this divine form. It is not that this is one thing and that another. “Sarvataḥ pāṇipādaṃ...” Wherever you look, what is there is One. So give up the differences of race, religion and caste, and set your Prema on all alike. Believe that all are embodiments of God. Only then will Prema grow in you. To see God, you need not travel anywhere. Many go to the Himālayas and visit so many holy places. But where is God? In you yourselves. How can you catch hold of Him by searching here and there, when He is in you yourselves? You cannot; you will never catch hold of Him. That is why Vedānta teaches, ‘Know yourself.’ In the ground beneath your feet there is great wealth. But you do not see it. Dig the earth and look, and all that wealth will come to light. In the same way, through sādhana you must make manifest the divinity that lies unseen in you yourselves.
Embodiments of Prema! What you must recognise above all is this: you need not go in search of God. Divinity is in every atom, in every particle. ‘Aṇor aṇīyān mahato mahīyān.’ God is far subtler in form than the atom, far greater than the vast. The small is God; the great is God. Look at a small example.
