Students! The studies you have studied must sink into your hearts. Our forebears had no schooling at all. Yet there was great sacredness in the words they spoke. Even mothers who had never learnt their letters gave very great teachings. What you must learn first of all is prayer to God. You must please God. You must spend your life in the thought of God. Parents must teach their children this kind of education.

As soon as the cock crows ‘cock-a-doodle-doo’, get up nicely from your bed; brush your teeth, ease the body's needs, bathe, put on your clothes and eat your morning rice; chew well whatever food is good for you; eat in measure, and it will do you good; go to school and learn your lessons with care, and be known as a boy who is humble; never go wandering in the damp; never go near the dirty pits; running, kabaddi and games with a ball, keep playing them at the proper hours; if you heed the ways set out above, you will enjoy the blessing of health.

Learning like this comes only when parents teach it; it does not come from reading books.
