Passage 2

In plain words

Today the people of Bhārata have fallen for the craze of Western culture and are taking to unholy acts. Though the culture of Bhārata is most ancient, modern society needs it very greatly.

Some of the elders of your organisations came to Me and asked Me to grant fitting guidelines for village service. Tomorrow I shall call the young men of Hyderabad and others, speak with them, and take fitting steps for it. In Hyderabad, which was once famed by the name Bhāgyanagaram, people today have lost faith in the ancient culture. The world of today is turning very strange. Teaching spiritual matters, and practising acts that run against them … In the great cities this has become the natural thing. The elders and the educated who live in the cities have wholly forgotten our ancient culture and are going astray in the name of modernity. The interest and enthusiasm for the ancient culture that is in our young men is seen nowhere else. How pure the hearts of these children are, only those who have recognised the loftiness of our culture can understand. Today it is most urgent to spread and teach our ancient culture in village after village and hamlet after hamlet. But though those who live in the villages have the zeal to develop this culture, they lack the encouragement they need, and so they are unable to take part in it. To plant our ancient culture in the hearts of the people, I shall not only give due zeal and encouragement but also give you the help you need. I shall give seats in our college too. All this is yours! This Institute is yours! I Myself am yours. So here you have the right that is due to you. Whatever help you need, I am ready to give it without fail. So that you can travel to the villages and do sacred service, I shall also give a bus.
