Passage 3

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

For Me, O Pārtha, there is no duty at all in the three worlds; there is nothing unattained that I must attain, and yet I am engaged in action.

There is no gain at all that comes to Me from these karmas. I do not perform any karma for My own sake. I perform karma for the good of Prakṛti.” You must enquire into this well and come to know it. God Himself does every single thing; God Himself teaches; God Himself makes us follow. You must make the effort to recognize this Satya. If you set your mind to it, you can recognize it in a moment. But if there is no faith, however long it takes, you will not be able to recognize it. No step I have taken has ever gone to waste. At every step I take, I am carrying out a Dharma of its own kind. Unless I resolve it, this very world does not work. But you are not able to understand these resolves, this practice of Dharma, in the least. God is one who has come solely for the sake of living beings, not one who has come for His own sake. God is the original; the world is its reflection. This world, being such a reflection, keeps following Me.

The race that has morality is the true human race

Every karma we do must be for God's sake alone. Every karma God Himself does, He does for our sake. So we too must perform every karma for God's sake. We must do it to please God. Above all, we must cultivate these three: fear of sin, love of God, morality in society. The race that has morality is the human race. Without morality, it is not the human race at all. Only one who follows morality is a man. Morality comes only from the fear of sin. The fear of sin is gained only through love of God. It is only through love of God that the human race can stand. But man today does not learn what morality is. Even beasts, birds and wild animals each follow the morality of their own kind. But man alone does not follow the morality of man. If he follows his own morality, God will surely shower His grace. Morality must be our natural trait. We must develop love of God. Only then will humanness blossom in us, and the whole world will prosper in well-being.
