Passage 11

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

You must not bring your wishes, your feelings, your resolves or your ill intentions into this in the least. Arjuna bowed to such a command. Only then did Kṛṣṇa, who is God, give Arjuna the assurance of fearlessness:

Let your mind dwell on Me, be devoted to Me, worship Me, bow down to Me; joining yourself thus to Me, with Me as your goal, to Me you will come.

“Now you are My devotee,” He said. That is to say, bowing to the command is itself the true measure of Bhakti. But the man of today does not know the value of a word at all.

Whatever God does is for our good!

Embodiments of Prema! A word costs little, and its value is great. How can one who does not know the value of a word know the value of a man? God's word is selfless. Whatever God says, whatever He looks on, whatever He utters, all of it is for your good alone! God does everything good for you. We must believe this truth. Only then will we be able to accomplish sādhanas of this kind. There is nothing in this world that He needs. There is nothing in this world that He has to do. By His mere will He can accomplish everything. On this very point, Kṛṣṇa, the Paramātma, in the Bhagavad Gītā:

For Me, Pārtha, there is nothing whatever to be done in the three worlds; nothing unattained to be attained; and yet I go on in action.

“There is nothing in these three worlds that I have to gain. There is nothing I have to do. There is nothing, either, that I have to experience. Every karma I do, I do for your sake,” He said. We must believe this truth. We read the Bhagavad Gītā; we have learnt the 700 ślokas by heart.
