Passage 7

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Divinity, Divinity, Divinity! Positive, positive, positive! This never changes. You must not let go of this ‘positive’ even for a moment. A ‘negative’ bent always yields only ‘negative’ results. The positive alone keeps protecting us all the time. The inner Ātma itself teaches man the good path in every way. If you set about something that should not be done: “O man! You are going astray. This is not good,” it warns. When you disregard such teachings of the inner Ātma, how will you see the ‘positive’ that is Divinity? We need not go off somewhere to search for Divinity.

“Whether one is in the forest, in the sky, in the town, in the village, on the hill or fallen in mid-stream, for one who has no refuge, God alone is the refuge.” Wherever you look, what you see is God alone! You may say, “My eye sees him, after all!” Where has the one called ‘he’ come from? He has come from God alone. So he too is an embodiment of God! All is God! Wherever you look in this world, what you see is One alone, One alone, One alone! Satya is one, not two. Even so, God, the embodiment of Satya, is one alone! “Ekaṃ sat viprāḥ bahudhā vadanti”. If we keep imagining the one God in many different ways, how will He appear to us? Give Him as many names as you like, fashion as many forms as you like. But remember that God is one alone! These very names and forms are plunging you into Māyā. However many forms change, God is one alone! Whether you say Allah, or Jesus, or Rāma, or Kṛṣṇa..... the names and forms differ, but God is one alone! Recognize this oneness and make it firm in your mind, and you will surely attain Divinity.

To regard everyone as an embodiment of God is true Bhakti

God's real name is ‘Satyam’. If we want to call on God, it is enough to say, Satyasvarūpāya namaḥ. All the other names are made up. Satya itself is God. Satya dwells in your very heart. If you recognize it, there is no greater glory than that. It is very easy. You can recognize Satya in a single moment. In the mother, in the father, in the child..... the Satya that is in everyone is one! Why are you unable to recognize such a God? You think that God appears in some special shape.
