In plain words
Knowing that to enter the Padmavyūha is dangerous, how can I give you leave? Breaking through the Padmavyūha is no ordinary matter. The one who laid it out is Droṇācārya, mighty and a master of stratagem.
“It is the lotus array; the crusher of the pride of foes swollen with their strength, mighty Kumbhaja, moreover, is the one who laid it out; the battle is terrible; your wife is with child; we cannot tell how the times will turn; your uncle and your father are not here: give up this thought now, my son!”
So Subhadrā pleaded with him earnestly. Then Abhimanyu said, “Mother! There is not one place where Śrī Kṛṣṇa, my uncle, is not.”
At times God's līlās look very strange. Because of them many doubts keep arising in men. When Subhadrā was with child, one day Arjuna was explaining to her how to enter the Padmavyūha, and Śrī Kṛṣṇa came: “Arjuna! Do you think it is Subhadrā who is listening? The child in her womb is listening closely. So this is not the right time to talk about war,” He said. That is why Abhimanyu could enter the Padmavyūha, but lost his life because he did not know the way back.
Good and bad, both rest on God! You keep trying to decide, ‘This is good, that is bad.’ To the good you say ‘yes’. To the bad you say ‘no’. But how can you decide what is good for you and what is bad? It is impossible. Good and bad, both are God's decisions! Some may look ugly to your eyes, and some may seem against your wishes. But in God's creation all is Satyaṃ, Śivaṃ, Sundaraṃ! How can you describe such a principle? To outward sight some things may look bad, but if you enquire deeply and look, good lies hidden in them too. To your eyes some things look beautiful and others look ugly.
