In plain words
Abandoning so sacred a mantra and putting his faith in yantras and tantras, man is sinking into naivety and Ajñāna. Bhakti, Bhakti, Bhakti... What does it mean? People regard good deeds such as performing some pūjā or other, observing vows and the like, as the marks of Bhakti. What devotees need above all is forbearance itself! Putting forbearance into practice is itself the chief duty of the people of Bhārata. Forbearance is very invigorating. It brings delight; it is something we must practise and teach to others. “Shining brightest among all the vows, a noble life of Satya is itself severe tapas.” Man today has forgotten that a life of Satya is itself the true tapas. “If you ask what feeling is sweetest in our land, what is worthier of honour than the feeling for the mother?” Today people are forgetting the feeling for the mother. Nowhere in this world is anything to be found sweeter than the feeling for the mother. He who has won a mother's sweet love is greatly fortunate. This sweet feeling is not something we can find by searching for it somewhere; it is not bought with money, it is not taken on hire. Sweet feeling comes only from sweet love.
No want of any kind comes to a man who has Prema
Embodiments of Prema! No quality holier than Prema is to be found anywhere in this world, wherever you search. Worldly, physical love can be had anywhere today, but Prema joined with the Ānanda of the Ātma is very hard for us to gain. Prema does not mean loving one another. Prema is giving the heart and taking the heart. But today the people of Bhārata are forgetting so sacred a feeling. From time without beginning, in our sacred land of Bhārata, divine Prema has protected us in every way, as the eyelid guards the eye.
Who knows where we have put that divine Prema today? We cannot grasp it. There is no saying that it is here and not there. Wherever you look, there it is to be seen. Apart from divine Prema, no love in this world is Satya. All these loves that we see are shams. True Prema springs from our navel. That alone is very dear to Me. Worldly and physical loves come to us, as many as we want. None of these deserves to be called Prema.
