In plain words
If, crying ‘dhyāna, dhyāna’, you close your eyes and sit, make up all that is not there and in the end forget your very self, there is nothing you will see. ‘I myself am all, I myself am God. I myself am the one in all forms’: recognise this.
Your form itself goes on changing in many ways. When you were born, you were a little baby. Then they called you Child. Growing and growing, in time you became a Boy. Step by step you become a young man. This Child, Boy, Youth: are not all three of them you yourself! In the same way, the one in all is you yourself. All are one. All are one, be alike to everyone. This is precisely what you must learn. Keep your Prema steady. There is no sādhana greater than that. That itself is spiritual sādhana. That itself is divine sādhana. Try to hold, for ever, to the feeling that is filled with Divinity. Even while you sleep, your feeling keeps on moving. That moving ‘reflection’ itself appears to you as a dream. You must see the Reality that is Satya. That itself is the form made manifest: realisation. That itself is your everlasting form. You must practise fixing the mind on such an everlasting principle. Then, whether your eyes are closed or open, that alone will stand revealed to you.
You long for so very many forms. But however many you long for, you must not forget yourself. You yourself are present in all these forms. You yourself are changing into all these forms. Though the forms change, you do not change in the least. All these appear as dreams. Dreams are all untrue! The day you rid yourself of this delusion, on that very day Brahman will be revealed to you. Who is this Brahman? None other than your own true form. That principle which is revealed is you yourself, and nothing else. You saw something in a dream. What you saw was you yourself, not someone else. Without forgetting yourself, bring your own true principle to realisation.
All divine powers and divine glories are present in you yourself; they do not come from any other place. How will you know that they really are in you? Turn your gaze inward and look at yourself. You must go on practising in this way. ‘Reality’ is in you yourself. ‘Reaction’, ‘reflection’, ‘resound’: all three come from you, not from outside.
