In plain words
“Without service there is no nirvāṇa.” In doing service we must not mind any hardship.
Embodiments of Prema! Today you are celebrating Swami's birthday festival. What was born is this body. It is in its seventy-ninth year. But do I look like a man seventy-nine years old? No. No. Not only now; even when eighty or ninety years come, I shall be just like this. I shall never be dependent on anyone at all. My legs, My teeth, all are in fine order. Old age simply will never come to Me. For Me there is no old age at all. You too, acquire such faith and courage. All of you, take care of your bodily health and put your strength to good use. By Swami's grace you can rise to any height. You can help any number of people.
You must keep the body safe for the sake of service; not for adornment. For Me too, this body is needed only for service. I am ready for anything. If need be, I am ready even to give My life. In the same way you too must always be ‘ready’. Do not think the body is all that matters. That does not mean you should waste the body. You must put it to good use. You must make your life fruitful in service. At any time, you must be ready to face any situation. That is true humanness itself. Even if it means being offered up for anyone, we must be ready. “I am ready! I am ready! I am ready!” Fostering such courage, you must give the world an ideal. I have no wish to celebrate My birthday with any great pomp. My one intention is to give the body due care and to have service done through the body. We must be ready to offer ourselves to society.
