Passage 3

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

The body God gave must be offered back to God Himself

What is the nature of God? ‘Nirguṇaṃ nirañjanaṃ sanātanaṃ niketanaṃ nitya śuddha buddha mukta nirmala svarūpiṇaṃ.’ People give Him whatever name occurs to each of them, but God has no one name and no one form. ‘Sarvataḥ pāṇi pādaṃ.’ Wherever you look, it is God who is there! You see only the human body. It is like a bubble on water. The mind is a bundle of desires. We must not live by putting our trust in such a mind and such a body. The body is a gift that God has given. We were born in order to offer back to God Himself everything God has given. Kṛṣṇa: ‘Mamaivāṃśo jīvaloke jīvabhūtas sanātanaḥ.’ ‘You are all parts of Me,’ He said. You are not merely a human being. Your name is what your parents gave you. When you were born you had no name at all. Humanness is joined with divinity; it is not something unholy. God incarnates again and again to nourish this holy principle within humanness and to protect human beings. Whenever Dharma declines, God comes forth.

Whenever, O Bhārata, Dharma declines and Adharma rises, then I send Myself forth.

So God incarnates only to uphold Dharma. Today Dharma has declined in the world, and Satya has vanished from sight. The world is filled with injustice, wrongdoing and wicked ways. Faith in God alone is Satya. Truth is God. Love is God. Live in love. We must live in Prema. Where there is no Prema, there is no life at all. We must love God for the sake of Prema alone. It is through Prema alone that we must attain God.

The whole state and course of human life lies within the Veda itself

As the learned pandit said, many Namaka and Camaka passages are joined in the Ati Rudra; they bring humanness to life.
