Passage 6

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Students! You have heard many words, My words and Kalam's words. But if you hear them with one ear and send them out through the other, there is no benefit. Those who teach such sacred things are very rare today. Take hold of this good opportunity that has come to you. Achieve the goal of your life.

You and I are one

There is no God separate and apart. Wherever you look, there is only God to be seen, and nothing else besides. You yourself are God. “Daivaṃ mānuṣarūpeṇa.” All human beings are embodiments of God! The principle of the Ātma in all is one and the same! You are not separate. “Mamaivāṃśo jīvaloke jīvabhūtassanātanaḥ.” “All of you are My own portions.” Conduct yourselves in keeping with that. Do not waste time in empty words. Wherever you look, what is there is oneness alone. “You and I are one.” Devotees keep asking Me, “Swami! Who are You? What is Your true nature?” I say, ‘You and I are one.’ It is not that you are separate and I am separate. The difference of ‘they’, ‘these’ and ‘I’ is nothing but delusion. You are all embodiments of the one Ātma! So you must regard everyone as brothers and sisters and strengthen your bonds of kinship with one another. All must live in unity. You must give no room to anger, resentment, envy or pomp. These are all evil qualities that drive one apart from another! You must give up such evil qualities and cultivate the good qualities that foster close kinship between one and another. Whatever it may be, place the burden on God. This is the chief message I give you today.
