Passage 11

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

After you pass out from here, go out and study further, if there is any higher study to be had. Along with that, give everyone an example of good conduct. Without telling lies, without stooping to injustice, follow the path of Satya and become embodiments of immortality. Keep in mind this truth, ‘In the world of the living, an eternal part of Me alone has become the living being’, and study as much as you like. (When Bhagavān asked, ‘Am I tiring you at all?’, the children all answered with one voice, ‘No, Swami.’) To make all of you happy, to bring you to progress, to give joy to your parents.... This alone is my work. Your joy is my food. I have no need of other food. So, all of you, spend your life always in joy. However many troubles come, however many losses, push them aside and go forward.

Trust your own heart!

Today some, out of jealousy, ‘Sai Baba is getting a great name! Sai Baba is turning all the foreigners into Hindus!’: thinking so, they take to false propaganda. Because of it they keep writing crazy letters in the papers. We should pay no heed to any of this. We must trust our own heart. Whatever they say, ‘That is all nonsense! I have nothing to do with it’: so we should push it aside. We should think, ‘My own mind bears testimony for me’. Whatever I do is only for the good of many! If anyone abuses you, ‘He is abusing my body. Not me’, you should think. Abuse shouted aloud dissolves in the air. If he abuses within himself, it strikes only himself and does not reach you. So do not take them into your heart. Keep your faith firm. God is in every one. Forms and names may differ. But God is one. He is in all of you. All of you are embodiments of God! Hold on to that feeling. Do not make distinctions that one is low and another high. All are one. The Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man: believe in these two and lead your life.
