Passage 6

In plain words

God Himself gives us that strength. So love God, and love the people who are God's children. Take in orphaned children and put an end to their hardships. Only then will our birth bear fruit. If we see those who suffer and pass on without showing the least pity, there is no sin greater than that. Tomorrow, when you are the one in pain, people will look at you and laugh. So love others, and be loved by others. Giving and Dharma: these two are of the first importance. “What gift is greater than the gift of food? What God is there beyond mother and father?” Many children defy their parents' bidding. “What Dharma is higher than compassion? What enmity is worse than anger?” In no circumstances whatever should anger rise in us. We must go on loving even those who hate us. By Prema alone we must sustain our life-breath. By Prema alone we must make our life fruitful.

Members of the Seva Dal! First of all, enshrine Prema in your hearts. Whomever you meet, greet them with love. Draw those in trouble close to you with love. Only then will God love you. If you do not love your fellow men, how will God love you? If we want to be worthy of God's Prema, we must first become worthy of the people's love. When we help others, God helps us. ‘Help ever, hurt never’. We must not hurt anyone. We must love all. We must have a good heart. Through Prema the heart melts and flows.

Embodiments of Prema! Every one of you is an embodiment of Prema! Foster Prema within you. That itself is a part of God. With this very thing in view Kṛṣṇa said, “Mamaivāṃśo jīvaloke jīvabhūtas sanātanaḥ.” My dear! I do not exist apart. I am right within you. You are right within Me. As I love you, so you must love all. Then Prema and Prema, the two, become one. When we join Prema to Prema, it grows greater still. The more we foster Prema, the greater we become.
