In plain words
No. What use is there in reading books without practice?! If you hear ten things, you must bring at least one of them into practice. Then alone will the right strength, energy and ability come to you.
Rajan is going through great hardship for the growth of the Book Trust. He is making efforts of many kinds. He is doing work beyond his years. He is placing the children who work here, too, in a fitting, good and congenial atmosphere. Wherever it may be, only when there is ‘cooperation’ does the right result come. What must this ‘cooperation’ be like? It must be such that it creates a bond between heart and heart. Not only that, you must understand it well in the mind.
Only when you foster unity and purity can you attain divinity
All are one, be alike to everyone. All must be as one. One may print the book, one may bind it, one may post it. Whoever does whatever, all together are one. Only when all become one does the mind find its due Śānti. Only when there is ‘unity’ does ‘purity’ come. Only when ‘purity’ comes does ‘divinity’ come. So first of all, foster ‘unity’ and ‘purity’. Only then can you attain ‘divinity’. All of you must become one. All must be of one Bhakti. I do not look at the book; I look at the head. Rajan prints many books and keeps bringing them to me. But looking at the books does not give me much satisfaction. What kind of head does the one who wrote it have? I look at that. Only when the vessel is clean does the food cooked in it taste good. So first of all, your ‘heart’ must become pure. Whatever happens, however many things change, the ‘heart’ must not change. ‘Heart’ does not mean the ‘physical heart’. I am speaking of the ‘spiritual heart’. That itself is the dwelling of God. They call that very God the ‘Ātma’. God has no particular form; yet wherever you look, He is there. Within you, outside you, above you, below you: wherever you look, there is the Ātma alone.
