In plain words
Wherever one goes it is money, money, money! The wealth we should seek is Prema alone! When we have earned that Prema, everything comes into our hands. In truth, everything already lies in the hand of man. All the gods move within man; from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head there is only divinity. To forget such divinity and to delight and take pride in the passing clouds that come and go is a great mistake. That itself is a great sin.
Nothing in the world but God gives us happiness
People! There is not one thing in the world that gives us happiness. Some people: “All the time you say God, God, God. What is this God doing for you?” they will ask you. Nothing but God gives us happiness. God alone is our protector in all things. If we keep remembering that God, all sorrows are taken away. “Truth is one; the wise call it by many names.” To give God this name or that name is only for our own satisfaction! However many the names, they all belong to the one God. Install that God in your heart. It is God who does everything. The one who scolds you is God, the one who praises you is God, the one who punishes you is God, the one who protects you is God. So whatever hardships come: “All this is a gift of God's grace. Who knows, perhaps He is giving me all these troubles for my own happiness in the days to come,” you should think. “Na sukhāt labhate sukham.” Happiness does not come to us from happiness; happiness comes only from hardship. Pleasure is an interval between two pains. It is only between two pains that a pleasure is caught. If, unable to grasp this truth, we torment the mind, disgust with life is born, weariness with the body sets in, and living itself seems pointless. The cause of all this is the mind! It is desires that have gone beyond all bounds!
We must not hurt anyone, nor do violence to anyone. We must love all and serve all. From that comes great good to us. If we help anyone, that very help comes to help us when we are in need.
