In plain words
So we must care for the poor. Since we have them serve us, we too must serve them. Today all who have studied to high degrees are sunk a hundred per cent in selfishness. Petty minds are springing up among the educated themselves. Everyone falls upon others for his own selfish ends; no one acts with a pure feeling, with the good intention of helping.
Human values alone are our true wealth
What must a human being have? Satya, Dharma, justice, Śānti, Prema, Ahiṃsā. How can one who lacks these human values say, ‘I am a human being’? How does one who has no human values and keeps demonic qualities become a human being? A man has no right at all to stay happy and pay no heed while the person beside him suffers. In this world all are God's own children. Whichever of those children suffers, we must feel that pain as our own. We must not think, “If they suffer, what is that to me!” With such Prema and such Bhakti we must live in this world. We must foster such equality. All must become one. Only when there is ‘unity’ does ‘purity’ come into the heart. Only when ‘purity’ is established in the heart does ‘divinity’ come to us. So we must lead our life keeping these three in view: ‘unity, purity, divinity’.
“Īśvaraḥ sarvabhūtānāṃ.” In the heart of all dwells the one God. God is in ants, and in mosquitoes too. We must protect them too. We must not spray Flit and kill mosquitoes. If you want to keep them from troubling you, put up a mosquito net. In this way a heart that has ‘compassion’ enters the path of Dharma.
