In plain words
Jñāna means a movement that removes desires
Your thoughts play an important part in life. So thoughts must be good. Man is a harvest of feelings. Vidyā is what keeps such good feelings safe. This is Ātmavidyā. For example, the name and form of a chair are only in your Manas, not in the wood. All relations and all importance arise only from your own self-interest. A relation is not an arrangement that increases desire; it is a way that sets desire running. Jñāna means a movement that removes desires.
