Passage 7

In plain words

Vidyā is what makes one recognise bondage

When some great people are arrested in the political field, or under some other law for the defence of the country, the government treats them as detenus, keeps them in large bungalows, in buildings with special facilities, provides food fitting their rank and supplies them with comforts. But the police keep guard around that bungalow and around its garden. For however much he is honoured, he is a prisoner, not a free man. In the same way, one in the bondage of saṃsāra must not be charmed by the feasts of five dishes and sweet rice offered to him. He must not be dazzled by relatives and friends. He must recognise the truth that where he is, is bondage. Vidyā is what makes him recognise it.
