In the moral and spiritual fields the Manas of man has sunk terribly low

Today the problems of the world have taken on a vast and brand-new form. They are not a personal problem, nor a local problem. This has grown into a world problem, a human problem. Looked at from one side, tremendous progress is seen in the fields of science, technology and learning. With plastics, electronics and computers, scientists are achieving wonders beyond imagining. One is still more amazed to see the victories won in the science of atomic energy and in the field of space. Looked at from the other side, political and economic upheavals, differences of nation, region, religion, caste and colour, regional fanaticism and student agitations roam freely over the whole world. What is the cause of these two unequal and opposed developments? What is the reason that the Manas of man has sunk so terribly low in the moral and spiritual field?
