In plain words
Man must destroy the animal nature left in him
It is plain that the animal nature remains in man. This remaining animal nature must be destroyed. Only on that day will there be Śānti for us, for our country, for the whole world. Man has great faith in heaping up and storing away. He does not take up sacrifice. He does not trust Satya. Untruth pleases the people; truth is opposed by the people. That is why we are unable to learn the lovely art of dying to the past. We go on and on uttering Satya, Ahiṃsā, Dharma and Prema in words, like a parrot's speech. We preach them. We act against them. We raise the slogan that there is no religion higher than Satya. Yet the strange thing is that the one thing man does not want is Satya. Man wishes to know everything, but he does not wish to know the truth. And above all he does not want ‘the truth about himself’ at all. He is afraid to know the truth about himself. He does not even look towards it. Even if he does look, he tries to justify it with some reconciling account. First of all man must give up entirely his way of violence and his way of weakness.
