Passage 7

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Mountain peaks seen from afar look lovely. Come near, and it is a fearful forest. In the same way, before one has reflected on the world, saṃsāra too seems lovely. Go down into its depths and look: it is a forest of a household, and there is nothing in the world that gives true happiness. If there is anything, it is the “Ātma” alone. However hard one tries, will a mirage quench thirst? Running after it only increases one's thirst, and nothing else. So it is good to learn Ātmavidyā and quench one's thirst for the world.
