In plain words
Ekaṃ sat viprāḥ bahudhā vadanti
That which is, is one, but the wise have described it in many ways. What is God like? On this question we may have differences of view. One may believe in a God endowed with human qualities. Another may believe in a God who has form though without human qualities. Yet another may believe in a God wholly without form. For the views of all of them, authority is found in the Vedas. Yet we all have faith in God. That is, that there is a wondrous power, that all arises from it, all stands in it and all is dissolved in it: this is the authority of the Veda.
