Passage 9

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

From ancient times the people of Bhārat did not ordain śravaṇa, manana and nididhyāsana, japa and tapas only for the sake of Mukti. They went on teaching that they were for checking the conversations in the mind. Only when those conversations are checked can great works be taken up and accomplished with a pure Manas. Only then does purity arise in the things we teach and the things we observe.
