In plain words

He who has his son study right learning, who teaches him Śānti and teaches him Dharma: that father is a father. He who shows the good path, who gives him a cultured life and makes known Bhakti for God: that father is a father. He who shares out well all that he himself has earned and imparts the Principle: that father is a father. He who, seeing a good son, finds contentment within, a great soul: that father is a father. The immortal son born of such a father becomes one offered to the Ātma, without a doubt. What more than this can I make known, O members of this assembly, counted among the good and the virtuous!
