It was he, the Bhagavan, who in the beginning brought this forth by a power of his own, a power made of the strands and taking the form of what is and what is not, while he himself, who pervades everything, is without strands. When by that power these strands are set playing, he enters within and shows himself there as though he had strands of his own, spread wide as awareness. As one fire, lodged in the pieces of wood that are its own source, appears as many, so does the Person, the self of all, appear in living things. Entered into the beings he has made himself, by way of states made of the strands, the subtle elements and the senses and the mind, he tastes in those beings the qualities the strands carry.

He who brings the worlds into being sustains them by clarity, taking pleasure in descents made in play among gods, animals, men and the rest.
