1Then the divine sage of great renown, seated at his ease, vina in hand, smiling a little, spoke to the sage among brahmanas who sat attending on him. 2Son of Parasara, greatly favoured one: is your self content in itself? Is the self that is body content, or the self that is mind? 3What you set out to know is well accomplished, and it is great and wonderful: you who made the Bharata, filled out with every purpose. 4You have sought to know the eternal Brahman and have studied it. And still, lord, you grieve over yourself as though your purpose were unaccomplished.
