12Then, when every good quality was in its rising and the favourable planets were up, the bearer of Pandu's line was born, like Pandu again in his splendour. 13The king, his mind pleased, had the birth ceremony performed by the brahmanas headed by Dhaumya and Krpa, having had the auspicious words recited. 14Gold, cattle, land, villages, elephants and fine horses, and good food besides, the king gave to the brahmanas at the ford of a birth, knowing what fords are.
