How the Yadus ended· Verses 22–26

King, of our friends you asked after, in the city of our friends: bewildered by a brahmana's curse, they struck one another down with their fists, having drunk the Varuni wine, their minds churned with the drunkenness of it, not knowing one another; and four or five were left. For the most part this is the doing of the Bhagavan, the Lord: beings strike each other down and beings bring each other to be. As among the dwellers in water the great eat the small, king; the strong eat the weak, and the great and strong eat one another. So the mighty one took away the rest by the strongest Yadus, the great ones, and the Yadus by the Yadus, one by another: the burdens of the earth.
