37Yudhisthira, being wise, marked its creeping into city and realm and house and into himself as well, the wheel of wrongdoing, greed and falsehood and crookedness and violence and the rest, and dressed for the going. 38The sovereign anointed his grandson in the city named for the elephant, well-mannered and quite equal to himself in qualities, as lord of the earth girdled by water. 39And Vajra at Mathura as lord of the Surasenas; then, having appointed the Prajapatya offering, the lord drank in the fires. 40Giving up there all of it, the fine cloth and the bracelets and the rest, without mine-ness, without I-ness, every bond of his cut through.
