Invited so by the king to tell over the qualities of Hari, he called to mind the lord of the senses and set about answering. Salutation to the supreme Person, the abundant one, who for the play of the rising and the standing and the shutting down of what is has taken up the three powers; who comes to be within embodied beings, and whose road is not to be made out. Salutation again to him who cuts away the trouble of the good and does not come to be for the bad; whose form is every living thing; who gives what they seek after to those men who are settled in the way of the highest swans. Salutation, salutation to you, bull of the Satvatas, the far end that poor yogins reach for again and again; salutation to him who takes his pleasure in his own abode, in Brahman, with a wealth that has nothing equal to it and nothing above it.
