Bhagavan said: Take from me, as I speak it, the knowing of me that is the deepest secret, joined with the seeing that goes with it, together with what is hidden in it and all that belongs to it. How great I am, and in what way I am, and with what form and qualities and works: let the true seeing of just that be yours by my grace. I alone was, before this, and nothing else, neither what is nor what is not nor what is beyond them. Afterwards I am, and this here is I; and whatever would be left over, that am I. What shows itself without being a real thing, and does not show itself in the self, is to be known as the self's maya, like a reflection, like darkness.

As the great elements have entered into beings high and low and yet have not entered them, so am I in them and not in them. This much and no more is to be looked into by one who would know the truth of the self: what would remain, by following through and by leaving out, everywhere and always. Stand fast in this view with the highest gathering of the mind, and through the ages and the lesser ages you will never be bewildered.
