Verse 19

¹³Being one, and wanting to be many, the god rose from the couch of his yoga and by maya sent forth his golden seed in three. ¹⁴The master divided it as belonging to the gods, to the self, and to the elements. Hear now how that one seed of the Person was split in three. ¹⁵Out of the space inside the body of the Person as he stirred, vigour and endurance and strength were born; and out of those, the breath, which is the great life. ¹⁶When he breathes in, the breaths in every creature breathe in after him; when he breathes out, they breathe out, the way followers do after a king. ¹⁷Driven by the breath, hunger and thirst came up within the master; and as he wanted to drink and to eat, the mouth opened out first.

¹⁸From the mouth the palate opened, and the tongue came to be there; and from that came the many tastes, which are got at by the tongue. ¹⁹From the mouth of the abundant one, as he wanted to speak, came fire and speech; and speaking out is the work of those two. In the water there was a long stopping of it for him.
