Is Hari's son well, gentle one, who takes after him, Samba, first among the chariot-fighters, whom Jambavati rich in vows bore, as Ambika before her bore the god Guha? Is Yuyudhana safe, who had the secret of the bow from Phalguna, and who by serving the one beyond the reach of the senses came straight to that state of his which men under vows can hardly reach? Is he well and free of sickness, the wise son of Svaphalka, who has gone to the Bhagavan for refuge, and who rolled in the dust of a road marked by Krsna's feet, his steadiness broken open by love? Is all well with the daughter of Devaka the Bhoja, who has Visnu for her child as the mother of the gods has hers, she who carried the god in her own womb as the threefold Veda carries the meaning that spreads the sacrifice out?

And is the Bhagavan well among you, Aniruddha, who milks out for the Satvatas whatever they wish for, whom they have named the womb of the word, made of mind, the fourth of the reals, whose stuff is clarity? And the others, who follow with no other turning the god who is their own self, Hrdika's son and Satya's son and Carudesna and Gada and the rest: does it go well with them, gentle one?
