36And does the son of Dharma keep the embankment of dharma by dharma, with his own two arms, Vijaya and the Unfallen, at whose imperial splendour in the assembly, and at Vijaya's attendance on him, Duryodhana burned? 37Or has Bhima, who puts up with nothing, let go upon those who wronged him the wrong he has carried so long, as a snake lets go its poison, he whose footfall the field of battle could not bear when he moved his mace through its strange courses? 38Is he well, the holder of fame among the leaders of chariot-troops, the bearer of the Gandiva, whose enemies are stilled, with whom the lord of the mountain was pleased, coming unrecognised as a hunter by maya and hidden in a heap of his arrows?
39And the twins, the sons of Prtha, ringed by the sons of Prtha as eyes are ringed by their lashes: are they at ease, having torn back in battle what was theirs from the enemy, as Suparna took his from the mouth of the wielder of the thunderbolt? 40And Prtha, does she still hold on for her children's sake, even without that best of royal sages, who alone on his chariot, with his bow for a second, conquered the four quarters? 41Gentle one, I grieve for the man who is falling, who did harm to his brother when that brother was dead, and who, siding always with his own sons, sent me, his friend, out of my own city.
