15Lord, what among the four things men seek is hard to come by for those who hold to your lotus feet? And still, vast one, I choose none of them. I want only to be at work at your lotus feet. 16Action in you who do not act; becoming in you who do not become; taking shelter in a fort, and running from fear of an enemy; and a household with a wife in it, in you whose self is time and who take your pleasure in the self: at these the mind of those who know is troubled here. 17And that you would call me in to your counsels and put questions to me, lord, like a man at a loss, when your knowing of yourself is unblunted and unbroken and never absent, and you are never off your guard: that, god, all but bewilders our minds.
18That highest knowledge, which lights up the secret of your own self, the Bhagavan spoke whole to Ka. If we are fit to take it in, master, say it plainly, so that we may cross this trouble of ours. 19To me, who had made known in this way what was in my heart, that highest Bhagavan, the lotus-eyed, pointed out the supreme standing of the self.
