20So from him whose feet are themselves a ford, worshipped in that way, I learned the road of waking to what the self is; and having bowed at his feet and walked round the god, I have come here, sick with the parting. 21So now, lord, holding both the gladness of having seen him and the pain of being cut off from him, I shall go to the circle of hermitages at Badari, which he loves. 22There the god Narayana and the revered seer Nara, who bring the worlds into being, have kept up a long austerity, gentle and severe at once. 23Having heard from Uddhava of the killing of his own people, which was past bearing, the Ksatta, being wise, quieted with knowledge the grief that had risen in him.
24As that one great among the Lord's own was setting out, the bull of the Kurus said this to him in confidence, to the man who is first among Krsna's own. 25That highest knowledge, which lights up the secret of his own self, which the lord of yoga, your Lord, spoke to you: you ought to tell it to us, since the servants of Visnu go about doing the business of his servants. 26But the seer, the son of Kusaru, is close by you, and he is the one to be won over for what is real. The Bhagavan himself appointed him, when he was about to leave the world of men.
