1When the Bhagavan had vanished, how many kinds of creatures did Brahma, grandfather of the world, the mighty one, send forth, from his body and from his mind? 2And those matters, revered one, which I have asked of you, most learned of all: tell them in their order and cut away every doubt of ours. 3Urged so by the Ksatta, the sage, son of Kusaru, was pleased, Bhargava, and answered those questions that lay in his heart. 4Virinca too performed austerity for a hundred divine years, entering his self into the Self, as the unborn Bhagavan had told him.
