Because of the grief and the remorse you have felt, and because you looked back into yourself at once, and because of your great regard for the Bhagavan, and for Bhava, and for me too, there will be, among the sons of one of your sons, one whom the good hold dear, and they will sing his clean fame as the equal of the fame of the Bhagavan. The good will work upon themselves as base gold is worked by the fire, by freedom from enmity and the rest, so as to follow the way he lives. By whose grace this world is gracious, and whose self it is: that Bhagavan, who is seen by his own light, is pleased with him, and pleased by a looking that goes nowhere else.

He will be great among the Lord's own, great of self, of great power, greatest among the great; by devotion grown large he will set Vaikuntha in a heart made ready for it, and leave this behind. Not given to appetite, holding his character, a mine of good qualities, glad at another's good fortune, pained among those who suffer, with no enemy anywhere, taking away the world's grief as the king of the stars takes away the heat of summer. Your grandson will see him, spotless within and without, his eyes lotuses, his form taken up in kindness at the wish of his own people, the ornament of the lady Sri, his face set off by flashing earrings.

Hearing of a grandson who would be the Lord's own, Diti was greatly glad; and knowing that her two sons would be killed by Krsna, she grew large in mind.
