Revered one, you have carried out for me everything you promised. Even so, I have come to you for refuge, and you should give me freedom from fear. Brahmin, your daughters must have husbands sought out for them who are their match. Who will there be to take my grief away, once you have gone out to the forest? Enough of the time that has gone by for me, master, in clinging to what the senses want, with the supreme Self left aside. Clinging to what the senses want, I made my attachment to you, not knowing your highest state. Even so, let it stand for my freedom from fear. The attachment that a poor mind sets on what is unreal is the cause of the round of birth. That same attachment, made to the good, works towards being free of attachment.

Here, a man whose work does not serve dharma, or detachment, or the service of him whose feet are a ford, is dead although he is living. Surely I have been badly cheated by the maya of the Bhagavan, in that having got you, who give release, I did not want release from my bondage.
