13Just then, Vidura, that great sacrifice was closed in by Rudra's followers, dwarfish creatures with weapons of every kind held high, tawny and reddish-brown, their bellies and faces like sea-monsters, running round it on all sides. 14Some broke down the front hall, others the wives' hall, and the assembly hall, and the fire-priest's hall, and the pleasure-house, and the kitchen. 15They smashed the sacrificial vessels; some put the fires out; some made water in the fire pits; some broke the girdles of the altar. 16Others set upon the sages; some threatened the wives; others laid hold of the gods, those close by and those who had run.
17Manimat bound Bhrgu, Virabhadra the lord of creatures, Candisa the god Pusan; and Nandisvara laid hold of Bhaga. 18All the priests, and the assembly with the dwellers in heaven, seeing this and hard pressed by them with stones, ran off in every direction.
