Dhruva married the daughter of the lord of creatures Sisumara, whose name was Bhrami; their sons were Kalpa and Vatsara. By Ila too, his wife, the daughter of Vayu, that man of great strength begot a son named Utkala, and a daughter who was a jewel among women. Uttama, who had not yet married, was killed on a mountain while hunting by a yaksa stronger than he was; and his mother went the way he had gone. Hearing of his brother's killing, Dhruva was given over to anger and hurt and grief. He climbed into his conquering chariot and rode to where the yaksas lived. Going northward, the king came to a valley of Himavat where Rudra's followers keep company, and saw a city thick with guhyakas.
