31Then the kettledrums sounded, and tabors and small drums with them; the chief gandharvas sang, and showers of flowers came down. 32And as he was about to go up to the world of light, Dhruva thought of his mother Suniti: how shall I go to heaven, so hard to reach, and leave her behind, poor woman? 33Knowing what he had settled in his mind, those best of gods showed him the lady going before him in a vehicle of her own. 34Along the way the gods in their flying chariots praised him here and there and scattered flowers over him, and the planets came into sight one after another. 35Passing the three worlds by the road of the gods, and the sages too, he whose course is fixed then reached that station of Visnu which lies above them.
36It shines everywhere by its own light, and these three worlds shine after it. Those who show no kindness to living things do not go there; those go who do good without ceasing. 37Quiet, seeing evenly, clean, giving pleasure to all beings, holding the Unfallen for their dear kinsman, they go straight to the station of the Unfallen.
