38So Dhruva, the son of Uttanapada, whose whole resort was Krsna, became a spotless crest-jewel of the three worlds. 39Kauravya, the wheel of the lights, moving deep and fast and never blinking, is set upon him, and turns about him as a herd of cattle turns about its post. 40Seeing his greatness, the revered sage Narada struck his instrument and sang these verses at the long sacrifice of the Pracetas. 41Suniti held her husband for her god, and her son had the strength of austerity. Seeing the course he took, those who speak the Veda cannot reach it, though they know the means; and how should kings? 42At five years old, his heart pierced and aching from the word-arrows of his father's wife, he went to the forest at my word and conquered the unconquered lord, who is conquered by the qualities of those devoted to him.
43What kshatriya in name only on this earth could hope to climb after him to what he climbed to, even in heaps of years? At five or six he pleased him whom nothing hinders in a few days and won that station.
