Verse 30

²⁶Visnu, Virinci, the mountain-dweller, Indra, Vayu, Yama, the sun, Parjanya, the giver of wealth, Soma, earth, fire, the lord of the waters, ²⁷these and the other gods, who have the power to bless and to curse, are present in the body of a king. A king is made of all the gods. ²⁸So worship me with your rites, brahmins, and put your grudging aside; bring your tribute to me. Who else is the Person who eats first? ²⁹His mind was turned backward like this, the wretch had gone off the road, and though they pleaded with him he would not do what they asked. All that was auspicious had fallen away from him. ³⁰So slighted by that man who took himself for learned, their fair request broken, the twice-born grew angry with him, Vidura.
