31Kill him, kill him. He is a wrongdoer, cruel by nature. Left alive he will make ashes of the world before long, and surely. 32This ill-behaved man does not deserve the high seat of a god among men, reviling as he does, and without shame, Visnu who is lord over sacrifice. 33Who would revile him, except this one inauspicious man Vena, who came into such lordship as this only by having a share of that grace? 34So resolved to kill, the sages, their anger grown full, struck Vena down with cries of hum; he had been struck down already by his slander of the Unfallen. 35When the sages had gone back to their hermitage, Sunitha, grieving, kept her son's body from decay by knowledge and by yoga.
36One day those sages bathed in the water of the Sarasvati, poured their offerings into the fires, sat down on the bank of the river and made good talk.
