Then the brahmins churned again, at the two arms of that king who had left no son, and out of the churning a couple was born, a boy and a girl. Seeing the couple that had been born, the sages who speak of Brahman were greatly pleased, and knowing them for a portion of the Bhagavan they said: This one is a portion of Visnu the Bhagavan, and he keeps the worlds. And this one is a coming forth of Laksmi, who never departs from the Person. Of these two, the man will be the first of kings, one who spreads fame abroad. Prthu will be his name, a great king, and his renown will be wide. And this lady of the lovely teeth, adorned with the ornament of her own good qualities, is Arci, fair of form, who will hold to Prthu alone.

He is born a very portion of Hari, to keep the worlds safe; and she is Sri, given over to him, born after him, who never goes away.
